City owned lots in Springfield
Comments OffIn an email to Mayor Peyton, one citizen inquires about City owned lots in Springfield which the City refuses to sell or maintain.
These pieces of property could be returned to the tax rolls, but instead they sit as overgrown, trash strewn liabilities. Is it fair to have neighbors mowing and maintaining these pieces of property while the city is issuing tickets for other neglected privately owned properties?
Great point! City of Jacksonville, we don’t know if you have noticed, but Springfield is already struggling against abundant litter and overgrown, poorly maintained lots.
So much so that the community has taken it upon themselves to do something about it. The City should take the lead and set a good example for all the errant landlords in the district, instead they are contributing to the problem. (visualize head-shaking motion)
