My favorite line in the sidebar: Tower of C -- "...this blog uses technology to provide audio versions of those listings."

I use technology? I also operate a strange, metal beast that carries me to work every morning.

Thanks for the correction, Joey!

I think the premise behind the article was summed up in the tag line, "This city needs to wake up and realize that we are the new media."

It wasn't the goal of the article to point out that blogging in Jax is now 'here' but rather the underground media has garned a very powerful voice as of late and here are a few of them....

Who does what first should always be credited and never forgotten or taken for granted but same goes for those that are making waves and having a very real impact on the community.

Good work to all that inform the masses.

[...] The guy behind UJinfo commented on this silliness. I mean, what about Quinn? (BTW, I just found out that Quinn was quoted on MSNBC last year.) What about Meg? What about Evan? These guys have all been in on this for more than a couple of years. [...]

Lunican: If that's how the piece had been premised -- these are the blogs *about* Jacksonville -- it would have been more accurate. But it wasn't.

You're giving short shrift to the other blogs for their local coverage. I found all of them because of the times they've written about stuff here.

The blogs that Rogers Cadenhead has pointed out may be written by people in Jacksonville, but they are not ABOUT Jacksonville. Who cares if the author of an uninteresting blog resides in Jacksonville?

I'm not even sure how the casual observer would even know where the author is located in most of them.
