I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ERIN BATTLE FOR BRINGING 'TWO & FRO' TO JACKSONVILLE, FL.
IT IS A PROGRESSIVE AND CHIC BOUTIQUE WHICH IS MUCH
NEEDED HERE. I'VE PURCHASED T-SHIRTS, JEWELRY, HANDBAGS,
AND A ONE-OF-A-KIND DRESS, ALL FOR VERY REASONABLE
PRICES. ALSO, I WAS IMPRESSED BY THE LAID-BACK
ATOMOSPHERE; GOOD MUSIC, BRIGHT,COLORFUL DECOR, AND
FRESH FLOWERS. STOP IN, YOU'LL BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!

I have visited Erin at her store and everyone who reads this will be glad to know she sells not only women's clothes, but men's clothes as well. Matter of fact after a long week of suits and ties I find it quite comforting to wear one of the many exclusive t-shirts I purchased from her store. Also, if you haven't had a chance you should also grab a couple of the CD's she has by DJ Jamad. Two and Fro has been quite the fashion get away for me.

Finally if we are serious about creating opportunities in the area it's businesses like Two and Fro we need to not only support, but take a vested interest in. One Two and Fro could lead to several other small, but like minded retailers. Springfield is on the verge of something big and it is going to take not just courageous and visionaries like Erin to make it happen, but people like US who support them.

Thanks to JoeyMarchy for recognizing my efforts to set up the store front, "Two & Fro" , in Springfield. That was a great photo you took a few weeks ago when the outside was actually the cool purple color you mentioned. It is now a pale seafoam blue that doesn't spark much attention, (I am working with the landlord to make a few adjustments on the color change and hopefully he's willing to comply with his sole tenate.) To my Springfield and surrounding area neighbors, I would love for you to drop by "Two and Fro" when you get a chance. My hours are from 11am 'til 6pm, Wednesday-Saturday, and you may call me at the store, 475-9265. You may also visit my website, www.twoandfro.net. We try to update the website as frequently as possible. To anyone having thoughts of opening a business in the New Springfield area, we are experiencing growth, though at a slower pace now, so I urge you to give this 'diamond in a rough' a chance. And Joey, sorry I missed you last week, but I was headed out of the country to
forge new vendor relationships. I do look forward to meeting you soon.

[...] A huge thanks to Emily from Anomoly for emailing me with more info on the mystery store in Springfield, To and Fro. The girl’s name is Erin Battle and she actually used to sell her own line of tees at my store. … It’s cute, but they are just starting out so there isn’t too much inventory. But, it takes time to build. She still has another job so her hours are limited. it’s called ‘To and Fro’ which is also the name of the tees that she does. [...]

Jewelee,
What time did you stop by? I walked over there to meet her around 12:00 and the "Closed" sign was still hanging on the door.

I stopped in yesterday and met Erin. She was very happy to know that someone noticed and posted her store on the internet. I am greatful to have a new store in Springfield that isn't a pawn shop! She currently lives in the area and needs our support.

This was the location of a short-lived hair salon when Boomtown still inhabited their Springfield digs. The name of the place escapes me, but they were pretty much an open and shut case. The business lasted mere months. The new store looks promising, and I hate to be a bearer of bad tidings, but good luck with launching a business anywhere on the Main Street Corridor. Many people can attest to the neighborhood's lack of commercial interest (see Boomtown, Henrietta's, Moe's Tavern, Epicurean, Main Street Bakery, etc. etc.). It will take a full-scale renovation of the entire block to even begin to make the neighborhood commercially viable.

And on a related note... kudos to Kevin Gay of Operation New Hope for renovating the beautiful building on the corner of 7th and Main (www.goffinbuilding.com), then turning around and leasing the commercial space to an H&R BLOCK TAX PREPARATION OUTFIT! Way to stimulate growth, Kevin!
