Summer Time in the City videos: Blakhart & Simple Complexity
07/24/06 • Posted in: Downtown Jacksonville, Events, Video by Joey Marchy 5 Comments »Friday night I went to Summer Time in the City at the Burrito Gallery. I took video of three of the artists from Friday night’s show. Blakhart was definitely my favorite. He has an awesome flow that was unmatched by the other artists. Simple Complexity was my second favorite and Rob Roy, my third favorite. I will post the Rob Roy video tomorrow, I didn’t have time to edit them all last night.
Warning: videos are not well lit, audio not safe for work, but sound quality is decent.

Hey yo Joe….
Its Ian from London Bridge/ HIP HOP HELL/ Pub to open soon in Springfeild….
I was one of the organizers of Fridays jam, and I really appreciate your support and posting these videos
BUT….
Asamov did not perform Friday. The first group you filmed was Simple Complexity (scmovement.com) and they were playing live with a band named Chroma….
so you gotta fix that. But besides that, thanks for coming through and filming!!! Let me know, I can arrange better lighting for you next time!!!!
Triclops Ian
Ian, thanks. I will fix that. Did asamov change their name to simple complexity?
Ian, fixed. I just have to fix the title inside the video. Next time I see you out and about I will stop and say hi.
naw Joe, actually The ABs (formerly known as Asamov) consists of 4 members: Therepy, Willie Evans Jr., J-OneDa, and Basic. They have been doing shows as a group since 99-2000.
Simple Complexity consists of Tough Junkie and Mas Appeal. They have been together about 2 years, and I (Triclops I) play a pretty heavy managerial/ booking/ promotion part with those fellas.
Both groups are on the similar “true school” Hip-Hop vibe, some of the best in the city… they all have websites/ myspace joints for future research purposes. We are all fam!!!!
That was SC 1st time playing with a live band, Chroma learned those beats in 1 week! Which is pretty good stuff!!!
Thanks Joe, stay up,
Ian
Although I am oftenly mistaken for Basic. hahahahahahahahaha
