Thanks for the feedback D & G. It seems like your motives are honest and I wish you luck in trying to find contributors. Hopefully Local Jacksonville will succeed where the local paper, the Times-Union, has fallen down. Their community blogging initiative is weak.

Joey, thanks for a great, honest post. I wanted to echo what Dustin said about credibility, it is a paramount focus for us. As you said in your post, we are looking for local residents to contribute stories and become regular writers for Local Jacksonville (and our other sites, too). In fact, we want our local sites to be vibrant online communities populated by people from the communities themselves.

If any of your readers are interested they can contact me at Gary.Goldhammer{at}move.com. Thanks again for your post and comments!

Joey,

Your analysis is right on target... And for the reasons you suggest, we're extremely concerned about credibility. As oppose to building another marketing platform, our goal is to explore how we can use blogging technology to build up online communities.

Thanks for noticing! :)

And my congrats on building up such a great resource for Jacksonville residents!
