Dog Days in the Park

Oh yes the time is finally here. Dog Days in The Park is finally here. This Saturday, September 30 between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Dog Days in Klutho Park will be going on in Springfield. This event is sponsored by the Springfield Animal Care and Rescue Club which has been doing an amazing job caring and advocating for stray pets in the Springfield neighborhood.

Oh and did I mention I will be there in the dunk tank from 10:00 to 10:30? OMG yes that’s right. Come get your shots on Urban Jacksonville author Joey Marchy. Later in the day (5:00pm) Springfield residents will be taking on members of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office in a game of softball.

Free family event for pets and people

Designed for all members of the family, Dog Days in the Park is the premiere event of the year for residents of Northeast Florida and their pets. Springfield Animal Care and Rescue Club’s annual fundraising event will give you the chance to reach out to residents of Northeast Florida at a moment most precious to them: time with their pets.

Dog Days in the Park coincides with the unveiling of the new Klutho Park baseball field bleachers made possible with a grant from Comcast to the Springfield Improvement Association and Woman’s Club. Mayor Peyton, city council members and the local media are expected to attend this exciting event.

All proceeds from Dog Days in the Park will benefit Springfield Animal Care and Rescue Club, a committee of the Springfield Woman’s Club (est. 1904). The Springfield Animal Care & Rescue Club was created to rescue & place homeless pets with loving families by working in conjunction with local animal organizations. We are also dedicated to spaying and neutering neighborhood stray dogs and feral cats, while raising pet awareness and education.
