Flog - the folio weekly blog
Note: This is the unofficial masthead I created last night in about 3 mins

Rarely do I write about a new blog the first day it debuts, but this definitely deserves a mention. Folio Weekly has launched a blog called Flog. It is written by staff writer Owen Holmes. You know, the guy that wrote the great article on Jacksonville mega churches, “Jesus Las Vegas”.

Flog describes itself as Folio’s daily-sh blog. Cute. So far Flog boasts the following categories (number of posts in parenthesis): biz (2), downtown (3), environment (2), food (2), homeless issues (1), jcci air study (2), music (1), politics (3), riverside (2), san marco (3), screwed (1).

Owen has some great posts so far. Take for example the post downtown vision which features a link to a video of a homeless man taking a dump in front of La Cena. (Nasty Alert!) Owen feels this is a tragic situation and solicits solutions from readers. This video was also featured on one of the local news stations last night. So kudos to Flog for raising awareness of this issue before the local media.

There are a few posts on the current political races and some commentary on drivers in downtown Jacksonville.

I guess this will have serve as a substitute for a Folio Weekly website. Time to pony-up and pay for a website guys! All-in-all, Flog has a lot of promise. I’m excited and I can’t wait to post a potentially libelous comment.
