OH MY F**K!!! I swear, just the other day, i was thinking, while playing old nintendo Double Dragon, “Man, i wish i could play the arcade DD again, i love that game.” HOLY SH1T! I might have to camp out there. No one has any idea how amazingly happy this makes me.
Ps, for almost 400 old NES games, on your computer go to virtualnes.com, thats where i was playing DD.

I visited Shanty Town for the first time this past Friday night and liked it so much I had to return on Saturday. Ian is a cool guy I’ve known for awhile and I plan on supporting the pub to the fullest. I thought I spied UrbanJaxJoey while there but neglected to introduce myself as an occassional browser of his blog. Anyway, the place has an intimate and warm feel and is full of smiling faces. I’ll be there after work on Friday no doubt.

Agree on all points. Sitting in Shanty Town with a Guinness, talking to Ian or Marianne or any number of the other bartenders, is like hanging out in my living room with good friends. It’s a cool place to stop by on my way home from work for a pint or two…

The best part of the pub is that Ian and Marianne and their staff really care about the neighborhood, the neighbors, and easily interact with customers of all ages and interests. From the younger skate crowd who spin the music for Metal Mondays, to the older blue collar guys stopping by a beer…

And yah, the cigarette smoke has bothered me a few times, but I usually just go out back to the fire. It is a deal breaker only if my son is with me…
