Krista Fracke, a Jacksonville real-estate agent and blogger, has just dropped an awesome application for anyone with school aged kids moving to Jacksonville or looking for a quality school for their kid.
FCAT Scores for Florida Schools mashes Google Maps with Florida school FCAT score data for the past 5 years.

So what is the cause for all the failing schools in the core and Northwest Jacksonville? Most likely all the normal indicators, the main one being wealth. Wealthier areas seem to draw better teachers. Better teachers produce better FCAT scores, which win the schools more resources, which can be used to lure better teachers. It is a vicious cycle.
