Oh, Al Gore. Has that man ever had a “genuine” smile?

i’d rather have a fake smile from gore than a real one from bush.

As of yesterday, that photo might be a liability.

I thought Al Gore was king poo poo of the turd tribe in liberal land since his win at the oscars?

I think people who pose with D.C. politicians and celebrities, to market themselves as “electable,” look desperate.

I care more about where they stand on the issues and what they can do for me.

Unless the celebrity happens to be Salma Hayek. I’d vote for anyone who Salma likes.

I liked her until she showed up to the Mardi Gras parade in a Mercedes that cost more than alot of the houses in the district. What’s up with that? If she wanted to be in the parade she should’ve walked and shook hands like any other campaigning politician would have. Not ride around and show off how much money she has. Sorry!! IMHO That was a bad showing.. On the other hand, at least she showed up!!

My mother, Martha Pellino, has worked very hard for everything she has. It’s truly shameful for people to hold that against her. She has shared her time, energy and resources with the community over the years and has never asked for anything in return.

She is running for City Council to improve the quality of life for all the residents of district 7 and to make Jacksonville a better place or me, my son and the people.

Unlike others in this race, my mother has NEVER broken the law and is the best candidate for District 7. She brings HONESTY, Integrity and experience. Her understanding community service speaks for itself.

Vote for Good Government on March 20th, Vote for my mom….Martha C. Pellino

Jaime, I’m sorry if it sounded like I don’t like your Mom. In the beginning of this campaign she was my favorite for the job. I sat with one of her workers during the meeting at 9th and Main and discussed a whole host of issues that concerned my area of the district. We got way more in depth than the questions that SPAR had sent to the candidates. I liked his answers to the questions I had, and enjoyed the fact that he at least acted like he was listening to my opinions, he even took some notes. I honestly don’t have a problem with the wealth she has amassed in her life, I just think it was a bad move to ride around the parade that day in that car. The parade was not that long and she appears to be in very good health, so imo, she should have shown that she can connect with the people in our ‘hood’ by walking with them and shaking their hands and “kissing babies”. I think that her biggest obstacle in this election is the fact that she is wealthy and is trying to represent a not-so-wealthy area. Imo, she needs to prove that she can connect with the people. To be brutally honest, she is at a dissadvantage in this election because (sad to say) of her skin tone. I know that it shouldn’t be an issue but in our neck of the woods, it still is. On the other hand, as I had posted earlier, she was the only candidate to show up at the parade. Kudos for that!! Another concern I have is her connections downtown. How will she handle any issues that go against her friends already in office downtown? I know that she has many connections with current politicians holding office. Which is good as long as they agree with her on issues, but what happens when they don’t agree?

I have been asked to remove the photo of Martha and Al. Unless it violates copyright laws I don’t plan on complying. BTW I didn’t select this picture to label Martha in anyway. I simply thought it was the bets picture of her from her photo gallery. And I LOVE Al Gore. I would totally vote for him again. Reduce Carbon Emissions!

i really didn’t realize there was so much animosity against al gore. i’ll be the first to admit that he ran a terrible campaign in ’00, and i must admit that i voted for nader. if only i had realized quite *how* terrible bush would be. i don’t think many people saw that one coming though.

it seems like since the election though, he’s totally come out of his shell. if he ran again, and acted like post-election gore, i would vote for him in a heartbeat, and he would win. by a lot.
