Urban Jacksonville

It seems people are abandoning the Met Jax forums left and right. I can’t say I blame them. I “Just Said No” to the Metro Jacksonville forums over 6 months ago and I’ve never been happier. The pace is maddening and it’s easy to lose hours and days just trying to keep up with everything going on. I still pop in from time-to-time to see what’s going on. It’s a valuable resource for some, but just too much for others.

One Metro Jacksonville resource I do keep up with on a daily basis is the Metro Jacksonville blog. They posted a great article on circumventing the $2.95 fee charged by the Florida Times-Union for individual archived articles. Learn how to access these article for free with your library card.

Thanks for the Metro Jacksonville plug. However, just to clear things up, MetroJacksonville.com and the MetJax forums are two separate entities. MetroJacksonville has no forum. Metro Jacksonville is owned and operated by a group of urban advocates that formed after coming in contact with each other through the MetJax discussion boards. Both are important elements in exposing what’s happening in the urban core, but they are two separate sites, in regards to ownership and purpose.

No, i’ll be sticking around and participating, just like I do in the other few urban oriented discussion boards, I’m a member of.

To say that “people are abandoning the metjax forums left and right” is a big exaggeration. There were one or two disgruntled forumers who got into an argument with each other and both stop posting. Any public forum will have people coming and going by its very nature. Metjax continues to grow and get better and better.

Too bad RG didn’t get paid for his ‘corporatespeak’ there. You picked up on a trend, Joey. Plain and simple. It doesn’t matter what anyone from either metjax or metrojacksonville says on this comment thread.

What matters is the BS back on metjax, where metrojacksonville posters go to play, think, and network…as they’ve related they get many of their ideas and input from.

Lakelander’s comment was funny. He may be metrojacksonville, but he’s also admin of metjax. People don’t buy it.
