Film Quest IV: amatuer film contest

Can’t…resist…Conan… flyers…uugh! This flyer is so bad, it’s good. Thanks to Scott who continues to send me notices of cool events going on at the Main Library downtown. Here are details on the fourth annual amateur film contest, Film Quest IV

The Jacksonville Public Library is hosting our fourth annual amateur film contest, Film Quest IV. This is our second year as part of the larger Jacksonville Film Festival. This year’s contest has a fantasy theme, so make a short (under 7 minute) film on either DVD or VHS fantasy movie (think Conan the Barbarian, Harry Potter, Clash of the Titans, pretty much anything with wizards, swords or mythological creatures) and submit it before May 18th. Be sure to use the phrase, “By Odin’s Beard” at least once in the movie.

Movies will be screened on the 19th at 2:00pm with winners receiving prizes donated by local merchants. In the past, this has been a great way for aspiring filmmakers to show their work in front of an appreciative audience.

The contest will be at the Main Library in Multipurpose Room 1 at 2:00 on Saturday, May 19th. Questions? Contact Scott Adams at 630-1940 or sadams@coj.net.
