ART House opening in San Marco

Friday, May 25th around 7:00 ART House will have it’s grand opening in San Marco. Grab some bubbly and fresh treats and meet owner Mia (sounds like mee-uh) Clark. So what is ART House?
The concept for ArtHouse was inspired by Savannah’s own shopSCAD. Like shopSCAD, ArtHouse is a smallish “gallery store” featuring local art & design objects which will be displayed using a personal collection of vintage and contemporary furnishings and accessories.
…it’s not at all like a traditional white-walled gallery space. The shop will carry all sorts of handmade artwork including paper crafts, prints, illustrations, paintings, wall hangings, clothing, purses, jewelry, household goods, you name it.
I first met Mia when we were doing research for Assemble and she’s very friendly, so stop in and say hi. I’ll be there with my wife so head down to San Marco for a unique retail concept. For more information check out this Art House interview with Mia compliments of Josh at Inertia.
ART House is located on 1506 Hendricks Ave (Map), between the Jaxcore Skate Shop and Jackrabbits, in San Marco.

Is it just me or are there a lot of art related stores, galleries, blogs and events popping up now in Jax?

No doubt! Will the shop be open on Saturday?
Am I missing something? — Where is all the art, objects, etc. It was pretty empty opening night.
Thanks for coming to the “soft” opening Joey. I worked as hard as I could since getting the shop space just 8 weeks ago and could have easily used a couple more days. Still, the turnout and support was great! Right now, I’m working on loading up the shop with lots of good stuff to sell so no one will be disappointed next time.
ArtHouse will have an opening every month on the last Friday from 7PM-10PM. It will also be open on weekends - Saturday from 11AM-8PM, and Sunday from 1PM-6PM. (Though some Saturday’s may vary due to my schedule.) I’ll also be open for special events.
I had a nice time at the opening, enjoyed the people, the energy…and there WAS too art there…just not hangin’ all over the walls.

This Art shop is an amazing addition to San Marco, and I think it will definitly be popular in the near future. There is alot of great Art Objects in the shop. Mia is such a great person and she has come a long way with getting this shop running.

FYI- There is an art opening at Art House on August 31st. So, it will at least be open that day.
Sorry about that John;( Following a recent set-back due to an illness in the family, the shop is now regularly open during the week from 11-2 and on the weekends from 1-5.
