No post today: i.e. I was out late last night

I’m doing production on the audio this weekend because I was out late last night at the Preservation Tap and Chop house in Avon-de-lay. Great steaks for sure. Look for the podcast on Monday.
If you want you can take a trip in the Urban Jacksonville time machine back to June 15th 2006.
Also it’s Urban Jacksonville’s birthday on Sunday. We’ll be 2 years old so don’t forget to send a card. Check out the first post we ever wrote on the Hayden Burns library. I’ve learned to spell Haydon Burns since then
Ahh times were so simple then…

Congratulations on 2 years of providing your readers with interesting, informative, and thought provoking material. All the while working a full time job, being a husband, a father to an adorable toddler, and owner of an exhausting black lab.
I’m very proud of you, all that you have accomplished so far and all that you will accomplish in the future.
Love,
Mom
Moms are always good for birthday wishes. Thanks Mom!
Hi, Joey–
I’m guessing many of us would be intensely interested in hearing Mack’s ruminations on the state of business in Springy. It’s a complex issue, for sure, what with the Hionedes’ and other commercial squatters of the world, the shabby appearance of Main Street after the refurbishing’s been delayed, the retail/rooftop relationship to the market density of Springfield, the exorbitant rental prices that we’ve heard about anecdotally … Hopefully Mack can shed some light on those things as well as how we can improve the sitchyation.
I think most of us are tired of eagerly looking at planned developments online somewhere, tired of looking at chain link fences, and are ready to see some more shovels in ground. I think most of us are a little fearful with the real estate market slowing down that we’ll sustain the pace of momentum needed to prod along more commercial development. (I mean, sure, have some pockets of success, for which we’re grateful, but still..)
Looking forward to it–
Ed
