Keeping an eye on the radar. Summertime in the City is a RAIN OR SHINE EVENT. We'll just move it into the Burrito and out back. All the fun stuff remains!

I'll post to my blog and comment here on if there are any lineup changes, but all artists should perform. THX

Joey, when I was in Wisconsin last week I got to experience "Summerfest". It is a huge, multi-stage and vendor event that featured people like Toby Keith, Big and Rich, John Mayer and some not so well know bands of assorted sounds, but none the less they were all good.

There was all kinds of music, food, drinks, stuff to buy etc, and all of this was set in downtown Milwaukee right on Lake Michigan. It was awesome. I thought about you knowing that you would really enjoy something like this.

Something like this would be so cool for Jax. I would love to see Summer Time in the City become the beginning of a "Summerfest" for Jax.

We looked at the logistics of non bottled water but since we feature, ahem, foam cups we bagged it for now. We are looking at cup options, like the ones with your logo on them. Not cheap, but we're almost there.

The event and the restaurant can do better. We thought of this as a first step sort of deal. I'm going green by drinking beer because I know the cans will get recycled.

I'm really sort of amazed at how much interest the green content has sparked. I have to thank P Ramsey for making a lot of the contacts for green stuff. Should be a hot hoot.

great idea. The fact that downtown doesn't have a recycling program doesn't suprise me, after all we're talking Jacksonville here.

ABC news did a story this week on the bottled water craze. Seems 30 billion or so of these are consumed each year. After drinking your personal bottle of water, its then tossed into the garbage where it will remain for??? who knows.

This is a good article about the current problem with these things http://abcnews.go.com/WN/GoingGreen/story?id=3351812&page=1

I'm glad that you guys are trying to bring attention to this in Jacksonville. There is so much plastic an styrofoam littering our streets its ridiculous. I wonder how much our city pays to collect it and dispose of it, when this stuff is actually a commodity.

Just watch how many plastic bottles will be used during this event alone, just for water.
