I think if you renovate your house, or try to maintain your house on a budget, using some common sense…you’ll be just fine.

I moved to Springfield knowing that I had to comply with some guidelines. It sure beats gated communities where motorcycles are banned and each blade of grass must be hand washed.

If I wanted to put up T-111 siding or tar-paper the side of my garage, I guess I would move to a 3-acre place in Keystone Heights.

I fixed up the house because it suited me, I don’t give two shits about guidelines. All 30-some-odd of my window casings are about as metal as church burnings in Norway. It’s what works best at what I could afford. I try to keep it looking nice but beyond that, it’s just a house not a monument to some bygone era that some folks try a little too hard to hang onto.
