Along the lines of outdoor living rooms, NYC-based streetfilms.org has a post up this week about the reclamation of space in Brooklyn – actually a parking lot – into some kind of more-comfortable civic sphere. More along the lines of the link to the public-living-room stuff in LA than the DIY bus stop in Springfield, but hey, dream big.

what are you guys talking about? That busstop looks like it was professionally installed by JTA! The same JTA that is too broke to put a garbage can at their stop on Main and W 2nd street, so that everyone has to throw their trash in the street because you can’t take it on the bus. Yeah, JTA does suck! That picture speaks a thousand words about JTA and its incompetence.

Springfield isn’t all that bad. You just have to watch out for the occassional trash blowing into your yard or someone asking you if they can mow your yard for $1.99. :P

That’s cool Jessica! you picked the best place in Jacksonville to live! I also think it is the safest, you have nothing to worry about! I love how everyone in Springfield thinks that they live in the big city and that they need “street smarts”. The old man walking down the street with his home in a shopping cart has no intention of messing with anyone. Jessica, which part of Springfield are you moving too?
