Flour Power

My friends Karen and Sarah sent me this Native Sun promotion. I don’t normally do promotions on Urban Jacksonville, but hey! I’m trying to get some Native Sun sponsorship money. Plus the poster is great. Plus it helps kids. PLUS it’s natural.

Now through the end of August Native Sun Natural Foods Market is using its “Flour Power” to donate 10% of every mini-muffin 4-pack purchase to Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale to help end childhood hunger. This is a great cause and the funds have the chance to make it back to Jacksonville families in need.

Native Sun. C’mon 10%? How about 100%?

Here are some statistics that will make you feel like you should A) Buy some zuchini muffins or B) help end childhood hunger in some other way.

  • 217,000 adults and children in our OWN community are battling hunger on a daily basis
  • Nearly 90,000 children are at risk of going to bed hungry each night
  • 1 in every 6 children lives in poverty right here in Jacksonville

Muffin flavors include carrot nut, banana date, jammin oatmeal, sweet potato orange, whole grain blueberry, triple berry, apple banana, tropical fruit and zucchini (several are dairy free, egg free).
