It was a busy weekend for art in Jacksonville. The crowds were out in full force. Whether it was to check out the work, socialize, or drink for free is still up in the air. Whatever the reason, it was a positive sign for the growing scene here.
If you weren’t able to make it out, you still have time to check out the shows. The Portent, I said Portent show at Pedestrian Projects will be up until the end of September; and the Bogda group show will run until the end of September as well.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it to the Art House show on Friday, but if anyone has any comments or photos, feel free to post in the comment section.

umm, this jax art scenes for real. its really happening
yeah. The Portent show had older folks and hipsters alike. it was an impressive turnout.
Is that multi-colored hanging piece made out of freeze pops? It’s awesome.
Yes it is. That is one of Mark Creegan’s pieces.
I didn’t get the postcard for this event until today–September 5th. Which is funny because the opening took place on August 30th. I also think it’s funny that whoever did the postcard just assumed that everyone knew that EGD stood for Environmental Graphic Design–it doesn’t say it anywhere on the card. It just kept saying EGD. Maybe it was meant for a teaser? but most people aren’t going to look it up if they don’t know–especially if they receive the card a few days after the show. Just trying to help out. The pictures look fun.
