Who knew Black Kids had a bass player?

Local band Black Kids are blowing up the Internet. After a successful show at the Athens Pop Fest it seems like everyone is talking about Black Kids. Black Kids are the new black.

NME online says Black Kids are amazing. Vice Magazine, the bastion of all things cool and edgy, also have an interview online with Black Kids. I’m not sure if this interview will appear in the print version of the magazine. I sure hope so.

Check out Black Kids for yourself tomorrow at this month’s Art Walk, Wednesday September 5th. Black Kids will be playing at the Burrito Gallery on Adams Street. Here are the details from Owen Holmes, the base player:

I think we’re playing two six-song sets, the first starting at 7 or so. Some guy with a guitar, whose name I don’t remember (Tony should know), is playing between our two sets.

Black Kids?

Just what we need....another group glorifying Jacksonville's burgeoning "Don't Snitch" movement.

First set at 7pm. Solo act between sets and then the late one. It might be easier to pop in early with a stroller and camp out for your space. Take the left side door all the way to the back door. You have to pick up stroller a couple of times before you get to the dance floor. Thanks!

Anyone know what time they are playing? I just figure BG is crowded enough on AW nights, and this will only make the crowd bigger, which is awesome for BG and BK, but no so awesome for pushing a stroller around.

It wasn't the cut of my jib, it was that he wanted to let me know he was super-scene cool and knew the people who worked there, and therefore was ultra-cooler than anyone else there.

Which isn't to say the music isn't good, by any means at all.

Frankly, the jeans aren't tight enough, and if Allah does have any grace to allow it, Reggie would don that lovely ensemble he wore for Halloween. Simply dazzling. Yeah, 'just saying', Kevin is uber hardcore. He probably didn't like the cut of your jib.

The doors will be unlocked in case of emergency. Like if the black kids suck and the internet was totally wrong about them.

Just kidding, don't use the gates unless it is an emergency. We need to keep them closed for liability issues. If we ever have them open its for events where we closed the parking lot.

The next time green is the new black kids plays at the burrito we'll do it up and open er up.

Owen is real cool and really good writer. Don't know the chick. Drummer dude was a total dickhead for no reason at TSI one time. The other dude was in that band Cubby, and if you ever saw them, enough said-- plus, Cubby guy, get some less-tight jeans, bro!
