Bad editing is right.
Everything came in so last minute for that issue (damn artists) that assembling it was all a blur.
But you are correct about the editing. Donald would never in a million years have confused Lichtenstein with Kandinsky, but I did when I inserted that sentence into his piece because I thought the likeness to Lichtenstein needed to be addressed. Unfortunately I accidentally wrote Kandinsky because I'm sort of an ass and often completely retarded.
I'm glad that you picked up on the mistake. Very astute.
As far as the mid-century thing, that was more in reference to the look of Mark's subject matter, not Kandinsky or Lichtenstein.

Not to mention Lichtenstein wasn't exactly mid-century - or even very mid-century'ish, whatever that means.

Bad editing FTL.

I'd like to know how Kandinsky gets mixed up with Lichtenstein.

I mean... "middle-century, Kandinsky-esque, cartoon-like characters"

middle century? Kandinsky died in the early 40's.
