A post today on Idolator indicated the Black Kids inked a label deal with Sony BMG-distributed Almost Gold Recordings, referencing a story on Billboard:
The much-buzzed-about Florida outfit Black Kids hasn’t played its CMJ showcase yet, but it’s already signed a record deal with the Sony BMG-distributed Almost Gold Recordings, home of other Internet darlings like Peter, Bjorn & John and Calvin Harris.
That is until Billboard updated it story stating:
Updating a story posted earlier today (Oct. 17), Jacksonville, Fla.-based indie rock act Black Kids has signed with Quest Management but has not inked a deal with the company’s affiliated Almost Gold Recordings.
…
Billboard.com understands Black Kids are in discussions with several labels but that no decision on a future home has yet been made.
One thing’s for sure. The first thing they need to do when they sign is get some new publicity photos.
