What’s going on tonight in Jacksonville? Madhatters and Cross-PolliNATION
11/02/07 • Posted in: Art, Brooklyn, Events, Five Points by Joey Marchy 5 Comments »There are two pretty shweet events going on in Jacksonville tonight. One in 5 Points and one in Brooklyn, a 2 minute drive or bike ride from 5 Points. This will make your decision on what to do tonight so easy, because you can do both!
I don’t know how this one got by me but thanks to Tony Allegretti for pointing it out. The second edition of 5 Points’ First Friday will showcase The Madhatter’s Tee Party at Anomaly, 6-9PM! One of a kind tees designed by top local artists in Jacksonville: Ali Fuder, Tonya Lee, Brian Gray, Jimmy Pines, Kelly Eason, Levi Ratliff, Marisa Carta, Molly Riefler! Whaaaaat!!? Awesome.
After that you can catch the First Fridays $5 Flick, which is Goonies. Doors open @ 9:15. BYOB and a blanket and/or lawn chair as there is no seating in the theater! “It’s our time down here!” “Chuuuunk!”
Cross-PolliNATION
After you buy your one of a kind tee, scoot over the Jane Gray Gallery in Brooklyn (map) for Brittni Wood’s first solo show Cross-PolliNATION. This will definitely be the highlight of my evening.
Brittni is one on Jacksonville’s hottest young artists and this is your chance to get one of her paintings before she blows up and you can’t afford her any more. Free beer and wine at this one folks, what else could you ask for?

Joey, Thanks for the post; I was going to make comment earlier in the week on your post about Brittni’s art show, but didn’t want to be a hog/a-hole. With good Fall weather today, First Fridays should be fun, and ‘Goonies’ was selected as we all figured it had a good “Fall feel” to it. Also, live music in the streets of 5 Points. The art show should be very cool as well. Hope to see some of you there.
Sloth love Chunk.
This weather is perfect for walking around outside!
oh man. i freaking hate working on fridays! anyone want to pay me a couple hundred dollars to not show up at work tonight?
Thank you so much to everyone who came out the Madhatters Tee Party and First Friday! It was such a great turn out and we look forward to seeing everyone next month for more music, food, and a movie!
Five points was hoppin’. Between that and the art show, we felt like we were in a real city.
