Liz, not sure what the Hospitality was. In any event, I don't think it's around anymore. Inertia is a music and book store. They also host shows and community events. Here is their site: www.inertiajax.com

Just an ignorant question from someone who lived downtown for years and has been gone ten-how long has the Hospitality been closed down? I saw a Youtube video of barrels on Main and some of it is unrecognizable. What is the Inertia? I may go back to visit but may not recognize the old neighborhood.

I wish the Knopf guys would let someone decorate their alley wall on the bindery between Walnut/Ionia. They installed those AC units that closed off the alley to traffic and the only thing on the walls now are vines and some stuff the kids that used to live a few houses down did to it. Mainly a homage to the band Poison and an abandoned attempt at Freddy Krueger because they realized at some point it wasn't spelled "Crugger".

it is the ruin of the old carriage house next to my house. Its got three walls and right now its just bare, unfortunately its not open to the public. If someone is interested in doing this, I would be more than happy to purchase the materials, email me at eatscheisse@yahoo.com

clayton- I would post the location of your wall and some ground rules. I had a legal wall on east 10th one time that got some brilliant work about every 10 days or so. Someone told me that people were coming from all over the country to paint it. Then they started to get sloppy and paint the bricks on the building (historic) and we had to shut it down. And then we sold it.

I looked for the zine that had the ten commandments. it was by zies and it came with a tshirt. thou shalt stick to abandon buildings IMHO. Not like there is supply problem there. And less bong drawings in the bathroom would be cool.

I agree, clayton, about wheat paste vs. tagging.
The junkyard garden on Main Street could use a mural/sign of sorts as well. We need to repair part of the wall, but it'd be awesome to have something on the intact section to remind people what's going on up there.
Anyone interested?
