The Dog Park - PHASE I - is finally here .... SACARC - a division of the Woman's Club - is officially opening the Confederate Dog Park on Jan 19th. All of the service gates and entrances will be locked except for the one doggie gate entrance on Confederate Street. As you may have already noticed, there is a wooden doggie foray into the park which will allow dogs to transition in and out of the park with safety and ease. We have also posted three doggie depot stations for convenient waste pick-up and disposal. Four additional oaks were planted for shading and the fence gaps were closed-in. Two metal aluminum signs will be placed - one at the Hubbard Street entrance - signaling people to the single Confederate St Entrance and another at the Confederate St. entrance listing the Dog Park Rules.

Thanks to all of the Springfield Residents who donated funds via Letters of Intent, we were able to win the Mayor's Matching Grant! With the Mayor's grant money and your generosity - we were able to make these initial improvements. Additionally, we would like to thank the Woman's Club, without which this grant would not have been possible. Thanks to their welcoming and supporting arms, we were able to obtain our 501c3 status and apply for the grant.

We are opening the Dog Park in Two Phases due to an additional, large sum of money we were generously gifted by the Woman's Club which will pay for even further improvements and enhancements to the Dog Park! The Woman's Club was awarded the very presigious ISTEA grant which they graciously offered to share with us for improvements to the Dog Park. Coming soon, you will see even greater enhancements to the park including: a new playground area with state-of-the-art equipment, a fenced in and upgraded basketball court, a separate small dog play area, human and doggie waterfountains, and a brand new fence for the entirety of the park.

Well, Marijuana seems to be easily outpacing the non-miscellaneous drugs.

But Miscellaeous represents a greater volume than the others combined...I wonder what the breakdown is there.

A large Meth number would not be encouraging.
