Seriously, try staying open after 2am on a Saturday. If you advertise that, people will come. May take a bit of effort, but it’ll happen.

Close down and open back up at 2 or something, just be open!

The place is shit. bad decor, awful service, ugly people. we don’t need another place like this. we have far too many already.

I’ll have to agree with Jason on the awful service. Two of the three times I attempted to go to Nicky G’s under previous management, the restaurant was closed and the third time I actually got in only to be told I needed to leave unless I was a member of the Springfield Wine-Tasting Club or something along those lines. I’ve given up on that place. Maybe the new management will bring improvements, but at this point, I’d have to be dragged there to try again.

So what you’re saying is twice they were closed and once they had a “special event” and that makes for awful service?!

I had my bad experiences with service and delivery but supporting a local downtown restaurant is important right now in JAX. I will give NICKY G’s another shot and I hope everyone else will too.

I hope they keep the same recipes for their pizza. I stopped going for a while because of the service and the stupid hours. If they stay open and the service is better I would love to go back there. What’s the big deal about the decor? It’s a fricken pizza parlor not Ruth’ Chris..And the staff is ugly now that’s real mature. I suppose you’re a friggin model?!

the place is perfect for a fat asshole like sox. I would just prefer a slightly more refined establishment to take my kids out for pizza. But I guess fat, stupid men like sox need a place to sit there sloppy old ass and feel comforable as well

You can almost expect bad decor from any first time business owner.
What I didn’t understand were those MASSIVE booths that looked like they were made to the specs of a sacrificial altar.
The fluorescent lighting was pretty gnarly too. It makes all the food and all the people in the restaurant look even more drab and dull.

I went during the last Artwalk and actually had a good experience.
It was fairly crowded so I was thinking it was going to take forever but for $2.00 slices and .50 cent beer I could wait. The slices came out quick and tasted pretty good.

The other times I’ve gone were pretty bad. Closed due to some strange hours, bad/slow service, overcharged, etc…

Take some notes from Moon River, those guys have it nailed.

I have to agree on the service. When i went a few months back I was told they were out of just about everything and the wait stuff as horrible to say the least. Hopefully under new management this place can be a great joint to get some food downtown.

Don’t worry kids, had a pizza delivered from nicky g’s on wednesday – same recipe, showed up hot and fast! Chika chika – good locally owned pizza still delivers to the hood!

Nice attitude Jason. I think you’re the fat sloppy asshole. I personally try as much as I can to support local businesses especially new ones just starting out except, of course, unless they get way to big for their fat ass britches and totally turn me off. I will absolutely give Nicky Gs a shot. It’s certainly better than some corporate slop that was the only pizza available in jacksonville before. Papa John can suck it.
