Here’s a little more about the artist who designed the cover, Brian Gray
I’m a 31 year old artist living here in Jacksonville Florida. I have been drawing all of my life and have recently aquired some skills in the art of painting. I first got into painting after I read an issue of Juxtapoz magazine about a year and a half ago.

I instantly fell in love with the whole urban art scene with its graffiti, wheat pasting, stencils, bombing, and tagging. I am totaly drawn to design work. I have always been drawn to skateboard and surfboard art work and just good graphic design.

I quickly realized there were a lot of people out there who had the same skills I did. I thought if they could do it, why cant I? So, I picked up a paintbrush and went at it. I first experimented with selling 8×10 paintings on ebay for like $10.00.

Much to my surprise my little $10.00 paintings started to generate sales from $20 to $30 then up to $50.00 over the course of one month. It was around then a guy from ebay sent me a message and wanted to know if I’d be interested in being in and art gallery in Los Angeles. I was so excited. I sent him five paintings and sold out the opening night. That’s when I knew, people dig what I do and I can really have at this.

Fast forward to the present and over the past year here in Jacksonville you can see me all the time (as well as other great artists) at The Art Center @ 31 West Adams St downtown. Best time to go is durring the Art Walk every first Wednesday of the month. I am currently working on customizing a blank skate deck for a benifit show out in Los Angeles and in New York and preparing for the April Art Walk.

My life has been a real whirl wind lately to say the least. I love what I do and love the wonderful people I have met since becoming involved in the Jacksonville art scene. For more about me and to keep up to date with my latest work and upcoming shows visit www.myspace.com/bgrayart. I am also in “talks” with getting my own gallery going possibly in the Springfield or the San Marco area. Once I get something going I plan on putting on monthly group shows to display the best of Jacksonville’s underground artists.
