Agreed. By making this kick-ass the first time, I think it can only get bigger and better.

I also meant that Fauz news would cover the controversy of the name not the band. Because the name, even if you don't like the music, is original, creative and provokes conversation. Which is what springfield needs. I love the oh six!

point taken Todd. As an elder stateswoman in this town I can tell you that supporting the locally grown will get you better content and shinier hair. you can whisper to your buds how this sound is not your bag over the noise and the crowd. But if you are able to to keep a crowd away with just opinion, it sets all back. I love that this thing is taking off. It is easy to stop things great but impossible to stop great memories. I love you duval!

By all means, if booking the Black Kids gets more people, more coverage, etc, that is great, and I think it will truly be better for the festival-- i was just saying that to schedule the festival around one band seemed a little too fawning is all.

I was kind of hoping they could work black kids into the name so we could get Faux 30 out for a live remote. I don't think many bands are making much if anything. They would be doing it for the neighborhood. In that regard the bigger the band the better for the neighborhood. Even if its not your cup of tea which I'm sure you've written about on your blog. So try to hold your nose when you see something you don't like with the festival or try suggesting what the volunteer organizers should be considering or even better if you know someone that wants to play for free or cheap have them chime in. If being old tells me anything; the more I can't stand music the more popular it becomes. Once you've hated a band all the way to the top you see it over and over and are less likely to tell people what they should like. Anyhoo, comments are stupid.
