Earthday fun Saturday at Native Sun
04/22/08 • Posted in: Activism, Events, Suburbs by Joey Marchy 4 Comments »If you went to Earthday at the Landing last Saturday you were probably kicking yourself in the head like I was, trying to wade through all the people. NOT a stroller friendly event. You might have also been snickering at the ironic-ness of people consuming armloads of promotional materials from companies like CSX and JEA that will probably end up in our landfills this week.
If you are looking for a lower-key Earthday event, try Native Sun in Mandarin this weekend (Map) where all of your plates, plasticware, cups and napkins will be biodegrable, recycled and/or made from non-GMO corn!

Happy Earth Day everyone! I hope to see you all at Native Sun on Saturday! Lots of yummy organic food to be had - and if you can’t finish your plate, we’ll be composting all the leftovers including your biodegradable plates, wares and napkins :)
Man, I just read the description on Earthday, and that sounds like a good time. Too bad I’ll be out of town, otherwise, I would definitely drop by!
I rode my bike to the Landing for Earth Day and couldn’t even make my way through the crowds with it. I bet the clean up crews had a mess on their hands at the end. How wrong is that?
Thanks for the update - this was more of what I was looking for - i did go to the landing for earth day and other than the fit of laughter generated by JEA actually treating, packaging and selling our poop back to us as “environmentally friendly fertilizer made by southerns for southerns” - it was no fun….
