It’s also going downtown so the workforce down there will be able to come up and patronize Springfield’s commercial corridors (when the businesses open! ;-)

Trolley route can’t stop at the front door of EVERY employer/destination site in/near the historic district, and still keep reasonable schedules.

I believe the major destinations (incl 3rd & Main, and 2-3 stops at UF/Shands/PTI complex) have stops planned. A stop at 1st & Main will serve Karpeles and Bethel. Keep in mind these 2 places are also only 1 block from the Rosa Parks station.

This route does not just service Springfield, but goes into downtown also, so patients, employees, AND residents can get to the downtown library, restaurants, the river, Florida Theater, MocaJax, the TU Center, other downtown highlights, and other transit options without getting in a car.

Harsh words. Johnny and Syd would be proud. Actually, those units opposite Shanty will look great, and go up as soon as this market stops bleedin, which could coincide with Main St. finishing up. “It’s the economy, stupid” said Bill. Obama can say the same thing.

The long trolley route would have one problem . . . picking up patients for visits to Shands, Proton, VA, Walgreens along Main St., then not bringing them back home. Which would mean no one would use the trolley. Maybe if the trolley is successful, some doglegs could be developed to service State Health, Bethel, Karpeles as well.

How many instantly successful developments have you build in resurgent areas, there Johnny? During a soft real estate market no less.

As a nearby neighbor to this development, I look forward to its completion, but no matter how quickly it happens, its better than the empty overgrown lot that was there before.

Lake has dedicated so much time and effort to this city and this community that most people cant even begin to understand. So back off.
