Now all the Landing has to do is revamp itself to match the awesome website and we could have a new downtown destination.

Yes, Chad. Twisted Martini has a wonderful weekend happy hour. Sit at the bar while a band plays, boats dock for free, sometimes a train goes by, other times the Main Street bridge goes up and down … and did I mention great appetizer specials?. I don’t go to Hooter’s very much. I’ve only been to the C&W bar once – they were promoting Three Olives flavored vodka.

The Landing IS revamping itself. When was the last time you were there?

The landing has always provided arts orgs that I worked with anything they’ve asked for. They contributed in helpful ways to plenty of events including the upcoming riversideartsmarket.com. You can take the water taxi from the landing to the market if its too far to Riverwalk. It is ever changing so don’t give up on it. But the landing doesn’t pick its tenants the market does. With this new site maybe that just became a little more likely. Have fun! Every day is a gift!

I was at Mavericks for the Addy Awards last month and I would go to Mongos (RIP) quite often when I worked Downtown.

I wasn’t trying to be negative, I was just agreeing with Thomas thats it’s dismal and half vacant.

It honestly reminds me of a glorified food court. It does a good job embracing the water but in doing so it turns its back on Downtown.

Orange Tree is coming to The Landing!

I heard once that Baltimore’s Inner Harbor was designed by the same person who designed The Landing. Any truth? Any truth in his suicide, too? And is Baltimore our once heroine plagued sister city? We have crack!

the landing is rough because people won’t go there until there is cool stuff, but there isn’t any cool stuff people people don’t go there.

Yes, the Landing and Baltimore’s Inner Harborplace were designed by the same group. Rouse also designed Tallahassee’s Govenor’s Square Mall, NYC’s South St. Seaport, Atlanta’s Underground, Miami’s Bayside, Boston’s Faneuil Hall, Chicago’s Navy Pier and the Riverwalk in New Orleans.

You guys should pro-bono a little help with urbanjacksonville, i like the discussions on here but its a little jumbled up and difficult to find things. The landing site looks great, very clean and organized. Maybe it will steer a few more people in.

I agree with you Karen… Friday and Saturday nights at the Landing are pretty energized. The courtyard is packed and people are having fun. Mavericks is not my kind of place either but everytime I have been there the place is packed and the people are having fun. Check it out some night.
