Last month nGen Works and I posted my departure notice from the company. While I don’t have any plans to turn Urban Jacksonville into a money making juggernaut, I am in search of a position where I can utilize all my skills, not just web development.
To me this move makes sense. It expands my opportunities beyond web development and into media, marketing and communications (online and traditional). I want to give myself the chance to use my blogging, writing, podcasting, online marketing, community development and event promotion/planning skills. In addition to my web development skill-set, these make me an attractive candidate in our increasingly complex digital job market.
While I have some opportunities on the table, I’d be foolish not to reach out to my current contacts (you). So if you, or someone you know, is in need of someone with my unique set of skills please get in touch by emailing joeymarchy@gmail.com.
I am available for freelance, consulting, speaking opportunities and full/part-time work. I’m also on LinkedIn if you want to connect with me there: Joey Marchy on LinkedIn.
In case you don’t want to click over and read the post Bon Voyage Joey Marchy here it is:
He went by many names – Joey Fresh, Joemar and The Mayor of Springfield. Now he’s going to be known as Jacksonville’s man with a plan.
Recently Joey decided to leave nGen Works to pursue a job with more community involvement. Running Urban Jacksonville changed his outlook on the city and he wants to devote time and energy to his vision of what our community needs.
We wish him all the best and feel fortunate to live in the city where Joey is going to make a difference.
Give ‘em hell Joey.
