Buy your tickets now, because in a few years when this team is going to the playoffs every year, it will be hard to find tickets. Go Jags!!!!

Great article, but I don't agree with the rebuilding crutch and the personnel argument.

Great coaches make teams great, not just great players. We have good enough players, but we make bad calls on and off the field.

You can take a mediocre "rebuilding" team to the playoffs. For instance, the Falcons last year, and the Broncos this year... hell, even the Jaguars of 07'. We don't need excessive talent, we need a better plan to execute the talent we do have.

Furthermore, I don't think you draft your team. First round draft picks almost never pan out, and never do they come with a guarantee (with the general exception of o-linemen). And to blame personnel decisions like picking Matt Jones, and Reggie Williams as opposed to someone like Rothlesberger or Aaron Rodgers doesn't hold water. You gotta pick the best of whats there and go with it. Leftwich, Williams, Jones, Harvey, Lewis and Monroe are way too much talent gone wrong to say it's a personnel decision malfunction. We need a better coach to mold that talent.

Anyway, my take on it.... this week. :)

Great writeup Gil. Jacksonville WILL loose the Jaguars if there aren't more ticket sales. It's a certainty. Why not go to a city like L.A. where you're certain to sell out tickets (easier to sell out in a huge market like that). It would be a shame for Jacksonville to loose it's only pro team. You loose it you won't get another one. It's a lot easier to fix it to keep a team then to get one in your city.

I know the economy is bad everywhere and other places still sell tickets but I guess it's always a tough sell when job uncertainty is so rampant. Would be nice if the Jaguars had some sort of ticket incentive the day of the game half price tickets if you can prove unemployment.

Here's the ultimate solution to the Jaguars' ticket situation. Maybe the Jags organization should talk to employers and come up with a guarantee. "If you buy tickets you will NOT loose your job." I guarantee you that we would sell out each and every home game in advance! If it only were possible ;)
