I swear this is not turning into a sports blog, honest. I am happy that I have this platform to promote the Jaguars, something I feel is essential to this city’s identity going forward.
I’ll be on today’s show, along with Abel Harding, John Burr and Paige Kelton. We’ll be talking about parents from Duval County and across Florida who filed suit against the state’s education system Wednesday, accusing the state’s leaders of failing to provide the necessary resources for education.
We’ll also be talking Jaguars and Touchdown Jacksonville. The group of business and community leaders working to spur ticket sales and enthusiasm for the Jags-Colts game on December 17th. But the game is going to be more than that — Touchdown Jacksonville wants to turn that Thursday night into an “Ultimate TEALgate” party event that begins at 4 p.m. The event is to include bands, free play activities for children, prize events and appearances from former Jaguars.
The question is can this effort work? I assert that it can and I will try to build a case tomorrow. Call us at 549-2937 or email us at firstcoastconnect@wjct.org.
