Refresh Jacksonville, in conjunction with AIGA Jacksonville, brings this amazing design event to Jacksonville.
What is Lighboxing?
Lighboxing was created by Veer. It pits two designers against one another to create designs based on a particular theme, from products in a lightbox. The lightbox contains 6 images and/or typefaces.
The rules are simple: make something great. Use any software you want. Crop. Cut. Paste. Use filters. Fight dirty. Write copy. Make a knockout design. Judges then comment on the designs and choose a winner, using a highly sophisticated and completely subjective scoring system, based on originality, effectiveness, and gut reaction.
If you believe you bleed, sweat and cry design…if you can think on your feet and respond with split-second reaction…if using Photoshop is second nature…then we’re calling on you to join us at Paul Figura’s studio on Thursday, August 20, 2009, for some Lightboxing! Some of the best creative minds Jacksonville has to offer will go head-to-head. Come see how interesting TWO designers can make the contents of ONE lightbox..
