Urban Jacksonville A Halloween Mixtape

Best. Costume. Ever. The boy in the picture is supposed to be R2-D2, but they wrote R2TII on the costume. Classic. So now that you are done laughing, you are probably asking yourself “Joey, do I really need two Thriller Remixes on my new Urban Jacksonville Halloween Mixtape?”

The answer to that question would be absolutely! Are you crazy? I could make a whole mixtape with just Thriller and it would still be awesome. So, have a happy Halloween and don’t forget to have your candy X-rayed.

Halloween in the City 2008

Let’s keep the spookiness going this week with a gang of Halloween events for this Friday October 31st. It’s been 6 years since Halloween was on a Friday so I expect this one to be pretty wild. Also, with Florida-Georgia the same weekend, Halloween in the City is turning out to be a pretty scary prospect. If I were you, I would stay on the fringes of Downtown and whatever you do, don’t go to The Landing!

Keep an eye out for the new Urban Jacksonville Halloween Mixtape dropping this Friday.

JaxScene is slowly emerging to be on of the best new blogs in the city, their Halloween Breakdown list is a must to check out. Here are some more:

The Fairly Big Broadcast of 1937

The Fairly Big Broadcast of 1937 is a one-act parody of Orson Welles’ famous War of the Worlds radio broadcast of Halloween 1938. The play co-stars two-time Jacksonville Jazz Festival headliner Dot Wilder. It will be performed on two nights only.

I have two tickets to give away for the play, all you have to do is answer the following question in the comments: The Spanish-language version of Welles’s 1938 script for Radio Quito resulted in how many deaths?

Thursday & Friday Oct. 30 and 31, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.
