I planned to write a post about the Urban Facelift Project from Content Design Group this weekend, but Jason from CDG and Metro Jacksonville beat me to it.
The Urban Facelift project showcases the potential of under-appreciated and often neglected buildings in Jacksonville. Several sketches are now available for the public to see.
Content Design Group has designed four facelifts, one in Springfield and three downtown. They want to get more architects and designers involved. If you want to participate in the project and do your own facelift, contact Content Design Group.
My friend Shaan Batten just opened a new store in Five Points called Nest Living. Shaan says:
I wanted to create a retail environment that I’d want to shop in. A place that has a definite style but one that could be tailored to suit a variety of personal tastes. I surrounded myself with what I think are some of the greatest products on the market at the moment.
I hung out with Shaan Friday and we discussed doing an interview in the future about how we can move Five Points retail forward. Keep an eye out for that.
